It was rediscovered through meguru, a project dedicated to uncovering objects that once supported everyday life in Japan and allowing their stories to continue in new homes around the world.
The vase was created in the 1960s, a time when the spirit of the Mingei (folk art) movement—centered on the “beauty of utility”—was deeply valued by intellectuals in rural Japan. Its original owner was a respected local community leader who found comfort during the region’s harsh winters. Each season, he would place a single red camellia into this rugged Bizen vessel, welcoming guests beside the irori hearth while deep snow blanketed the world outside.
The naturally occurring yohen patterns—formed solely through the interaction of fire and clay, without any glaze—mirrored the fleeting beauty of the winter landscape itself. Each item is carefully packed with protective materials to ensure safe delivery.
Estimated delivery time is approximately 7–14 business days depending on customs procedures, local delivery conditions, weather disruptions, and customs inspections.

* natural signs of age and wear
However, if severe loss or damage during shipping is officially confirmed by the carrier’s insurance, we will respond within the scope of the insurance coverage.
For customers in the UK and EU, applicable consumer protection laws and cooling-off rights will take precedence where required by law.
