Return & Refund Policy

 

We want you to shop with confidence at meguru.
Each item is carefully inspected before shipping, and we make every effort to describe it accurately.
Please understand that our products are vintage and one-of-a-kind — minor imperfections are part of their unique charm.


1. Eligibility for Returns

We accept returns only under the following circumstances:

  • The item arrives damaged during delivery,
  • The item is defective or incorrect, or
  • The item is significantly different from the description or photos.

To be eligible for a return, you must provide a receipt or proof of purchase.

Please contact us at meguru@fumu.jp in advance to start a return request.

Items sent back to us without prior return approval will not be accepted.

All return or exchange requests must be made within 10 days of receiving the item.

Unless the item is defective or damaged, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

2. Damage, Liability, and Shipping Issues

Damage During Shipping – Important Notice

In the unlikely event that your item arrives damaged,
please contact us within 10 days of delivery.

To help us accurately assess the condition of the damage,
we kindly ask you to provide the following photos:

  • Clear photos showing the condition of the damaged item
  • Photos clearly showing the condition of the outer packaging (shipping box)
  • Photos showing the inside of the box, including the packing condition
    (such as the presence and placement of cushioning materials)
  • Photos of all items included in the shipment
  • A clear photo of the shipping label on the box

Please note that all items and packaging materials must be kept and stored
until permission is given by the shipping carrier to dispose of them.

This includes:

  • The damaged item
  • The outer shipping box
  • All cushioning and packing materials
  • Any other items included in the same shipment

Disposal of any of these items before carrier approval
may affect our ability to properly investigate the damage
and may result in the claim being denied.

Please also understand that minor imperfections consistent with the nature of vintage items
(such as age-related wear, patina, small scratches, or subtle glaze variations)
are not considered shipping damage.


3. Exceptions / Non-returnable Items

The following items and situations are not eligible for returns or refunds:

  • Minor imperfections that are consistent with the nature of vintage or antique items,
    including but not limited to age-related wear, patina, small scratches, stains, fading,
    glaze variations, kiln marks, or natural irregularities
  • Conditions that are clearly described in the product description or visible in the photos
  • Items returned due to customer preference, change of mind, or differences in personal expectations
  • Items returned without prior return approval
  • Items damaged after delivery due to improper handling, use, or storage by the customer

Please note that each vintage item is unique and may show signs of age and use.
These characteristics are part of the item’s history and character and
do not constitute defects or shipping damage.

We encourage all customers to carefully review product descriptions and photos
before placing an order. If you have any questions prior to purchase,

4. European Union 14-Day Cooling-off Period

If you are a customer residing in the European Union (EU),
you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving the item,
without providing a reason, in accordance with EU consumer protection laws.

To exercise this right, you must notify us of your decision to withdraw
by contacting meguru@fumu.jpwithin the 14-day period.

Please note the following conditions:

  • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer
  • The item must be returned in the same condition as received
  • Any loss in value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary
    to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the item
    may be deducted from the refund
  • The right of withdrawal does not apply to items that are damaged after delivery
    or altered by the customer

This EU cooling-off right does not affect your rights
regarding defective items or items damaged during delivery,
which are governed by Sections 1 and 2 of this policy.


5. Refunds

Once a returned item is received and inspected,
we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If your return is approved, the refund will be processed
to your original method of payment.
Please note that it may take additional time for your bank or credit card company
to reflect the refund in your account.

Only items that meet the conditions outlined in Sections 1 through 4
are eligible for a refund.

Please note the following:

Partial Refunds for Damaged Items in Multi-Item Orders

If an order contains multiple items and only part of the shipment
is damaged during delivery,
the refund will be limited to the damaged item(s) only.

The refund amount will be calculated by dividing
the total item price by the number of items in the order
and refunding the corresponding value of the damaged item(s).

Undamaged items included in the same order
are
not eligible for a refund.

If a return does not meet the conditions of this policy,
no refund will be issued, and the item may be returned to the customer
at the customer’s expense.
